Having purchased a very nervous, young horse I was looking for a trainer who would give a sympathetic approach, to both me and my horse. With Milly’s coaching experience I soon found out that there was a completely different way to ride, which did not result in me feeling like I had been in a wrestling match. I always find my training sessions enlightening and I always look forward to the next one. Milly has a wealth of experience, coupled with kindness and softness. She has a lovely quiet way with horses, and I would recommend her to anyone who loves their horse and wants to find a better way to improve and enjoy their journey to a better understanding of the art of riding. What I like about Milly is that she is reliable, approachable and above all dedicated to passing on her knowledge. She has changed the way I ride and think, for which I am extremely grateful.

"I have been training with Milly for the last three years and the change in my riding has been amazing. Milly has worked on the mechanics of my riding to make me more balanced, develop core strength and have quiet, sensitive hands that allow the horses I ride on a daily basis an opportunity to find self carriage. Milly teaches from a very instinctive place and uses visualisation and relaxation techniques to get to the heart of the problem.
She has changed my view of myself and my view of the horses I ride and train. An amazing trainer and a wonderful human being. I have made progress with Milly that years of training with other coaches have not done. For that I am eternally grateful! I would recommend Milly to any riders at any level and ability. You will be amazed at the results!"

Milly worked with me and my horses almost daily for a number of years and still visits to help us with special projects. In all that time she has taught me a great deal about horses and about myself. As in all successful relationships being with horses is a two way street. Of course, you want a relaxed happy successful horse that is totally responsive to you. And guess what? If you are tuned in to your horse, giving him/her your full attention and treating him/her or her with respect, (s) he will reciprocate! Sounds obvious, I know, but what Milly helps you discover is what is naturally right for both you and your horse. And learning to pay real attention to what you are communicating to your horse and what your horse is telling you in return is a skill you can use in all walks of life.
"Dassett Eventing specialises in producing young horses up through the grades in the sport of There Day Eventing, and Milly has played a fundamental role in setting up our training programme for all our horses, from recently backed 4 year olds, right up to Advanced level horses competing at the top of their sport. She has an excellent understanding of the way in which a horse operates, both mentally and physically, and is able to translate this into words which both a professional and ametuer rider, of any age, can understand. She is sympathectic when educating young horses, knowledgable when training experienced horses and always keeps the horses' welfare as paramount. Milly strives for perfection in all that she does and will work tirelessly to ensure any rider under her tuition is happy and fully understands all that she says. Milly is one of the kindest people I know and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for training or mentoring."
